Opal’s all-inclusive cremation in Los Angeles County is $1,295 — this includes all taxes, fees, LA County permits, pickup anywhere in LA County, death certificate filing, a premium urn, and return of remains. Some providers advertise lower prices, but those are typically base prices that don’t include mileage fees, urn costs, death certificate charges, or county fees. Always ask for the all-inclusive total before agreeing to any arrangement. Opal’s price is the price you pay — nothing is added at billing.
Does Opal charge extra for pickup from the LA County Coroner?
No. Pickup from the LA County Coroner is included in Opal’s $1,295 price. Note that the LA County Coroner may charge its own collection and transport fee of up to $400 — this is a county fee charged directly to families and is separate from Opal’s arrangement price. Our team will let you know if this fee applies and will guide you through the process.
What areas of Los Angeles County does Opal serve?
Our service area covers all of Los Angeles County — from Lancaster and Santa Clarita in the north to Long Beach and San Pedro in the south, and from the beach cities in the west to Pomona and Diamond Bar in the east. Our LA office is located in El Segundo. There is no mileage surcharge for pickup within LA County.
Do I need to come into your El Segundo office?
No. Everything can be arranged by phone or online. You never need to visit our office or any funeral home. Our care team handles all arrangements, paperwork, and county filings remotely — you can complete everything from home, at whatever pace feels right for your family.
How will I receive my loved one’s ashes?
Once cremation is complete, you can choose hand-delivery within Southern California at no additional charge, local pickup at our El Segundo office, or priority shipping anywhere in the continental US — all included in your price. Your loved one’s ashes are returned in a premium handmade urn.
